For many years I have believed it is extremely important to educate youth on these real-life skills that will help support them as they transition from high school to post-secondary education and into the “adult’ world. I am glad to see that some change is being made in the curriculum but it is still not enough. Many teachers themselves don’t feel adequately prepared or comfortable teaching financial lessons. With the new mandated Financial Literacy testing teachers have been given little to no instruction on how to prepare their students. I believe my book and the lesson plans are a great resource for the classroom. Currently we are piloting projects in Nova Scotia and Ontario.
